Brainorium

The BCBL Brainorium is a new laboratory at the Basque Centre on Cognition, Brain and Language (BCBL) for the study of neurocognitive processes related to language. It is located at the Amara Berri School in Donostia-San Sebastián, as a result of a strategic alliance between the two centres.

In 2025, the BCBL launched this lab with a two-fold goal: to bring science closer to the educational community and to enable students to participate in neuroscientific studies related to language and reading.

This lab provides the opportunity to combine the tasks designed for students to carry out within the school facilities with the advanced neuroimaging techniques available at the BCBL's main lab. This creates a unique environment for research into language comprehension and acquisition.

Furthermore, Amara Berri School is a reference centre within the Deaf community. This collaboration will help the Brainorium strengthen BCBL’s research on Spanish Sign Language (LSE), broadening the scope and impact of related scientific projects.
