Brainorium

The BCBL Brainorium is a new laboratory at the Basque Centre on Cognition, Brain and Language (BCBL) for the study of neurocognitive processes related to language. It is located at the Amara Berri School in Donostia-San Sebastián, as a result of a strategic alliance between the two centres.

In 2025, the BCBL launched this lab with a two-fold goal: to bring science closer to the educational community and to enable students to participate in neuroscientific studies related to language and reading.

This lab provides the opportunity to combine the tasks designed for students to carry out within the school facilities with the advanced neuroimaging techniques available at the BCBL's main lab. This creates a unique environment for research into language comprehension and acquisition.

Furthermore, Amara Berri School is a leading institution in the deaf community. Thanks to this, the Brainorium will strengthen scientific collaboration in our research on Spanish Sign Language (LSE).

In addition, Amara Berri School is a centre of reference in the deaf community. Thanks to this, the Brainorium will strengthen the collaboration in our line of research on Spanish Sign Language (LSE), expanding the scope and impact of scientific projects.
