Predictive processing in speech and hearing

Scott, S. .

In this talk I will give an overview of some of the key neuro-anatomical networks important in speech and hearing, both cortically and sub cortically. I will use this as a framework for addressing different kinds of perceptual processing of speech and other sounds and try and identify consistent patterns of predictive processes within this. I will draw comparisons and distinctions with other kinds of sensori-motor processes, for example, aspects associated with entrainment and the guidance of movement.
