In this talk we will review various lines of evidence in favour of genetic influences on developmental dyslexia, explain the function of the genes associated with dyslexia and their role in brain and cognitive development, and finally we will discuss what these new pieces of knowledge may or may not change for the diagnosis and remediation of dyslexia.
