Practical Issues in Dyslexia: Diagnosis and Treatment in the light of research

Perfetti, C.

Helping children with reading problems, including children diagnosed with Dyslexia, is an important goal for educational policy. Furthermore, research-informed approaches to such help are available. I discuss a range of practical issues that are highlighted by research across languages on reading and interventions for children with dyslexia. These include the effectiveness of interventions derived from specific theories of dyslexia and from subtyping, the response to intervention approach, dosage level treatments, and other issues for which there is relevant evidence from research.
