Information about the position: The Basque Center on Cognition Brain and Language – BCBL- (San Sebastián, Basque Country, Spain) is offering one 2-year funded Postdoctoral opportunity. The selected candidate will participate in a project focused on real-time closed-loop technology and language processing. Specifically, the candidate will work on the development of advanced electro-magnetoencephalography (MEEG) pipeline for real-time data analysis in natural speech perception. The selected candidate must have excellent programming skills using Matlab or Python and experience using machine learning models. Additional experience WITH MEEG will be a plus.

Job description: The successful candidate will work with the PIs and potentially with other postdocs in the Brain Rhythms and Cognition Group. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an independent research program that complements the Group’s focus.

  1. CANDIDATES’ PROFILE AND SELECTION CRITERIA

Required skills:

  • Applicants should have PhD (or nearly completed) in in Electrical/Telecommunication Engineering, Information Technology, Cognitive Neuroscience and/or related areas.
  • The applicants must demonstrate excellent communication skills in English.
  • Machine learning and computational modelling knowledge.

Desirable skills:

  • Methodological skills (e.g., noninvasive neuroimaging, MEG/EEG)
  • Technical skills related to the manipulation of auditory stimuli (e.g., Praat)

Salary: Gross salary € 28.000 - € 30.000
