First two days
The fifth edition of iWORDD will offer the research community a unique opportunity to gain a comprehensive overview of current theories and methodological advances in the study of developmental dyslexia and reading acquisition, with a special focus this year on bridging brain and behavioural sciences of reading. This edition of iWORDD aims to foster dialogue between two research traditions that have often evolved in parallel, promoting greater integration between brain-based and cognitive-behavioural perspectives. The ultimate goal is to advance our understanding of the multifactorial mechanisms underlying both causal and compensatory factors associated with reading difficulties, across multiple levels of analysis — including genetics, brain, cognition, and environment.
While maintaining the diversity of theoretical views that has always characterised iWORDD, this year’s meeting will place particular emphasis on cross-disciplinary exchange and collaboration.
The first two days will be dedicated to science and will feature four keynote lectures and two invited symposia delivered by leading international experts, complemented by oral and poster presentations selected from abstract submissions. With its deliberately limited size, iWORDD continues to provide a stimulating environment for in-depth discussion and networking within the research community.
Third day (From theory to Practice)
The aim of this third day is to promote the transfer of knowledge and interaction among researchers, parents, teachers and practitioners. \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"iWORDD -- From Theory to Practice\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" is centered around keynote lectures by international experts tailored to a broad audience, followed by a round-table discussion. For this part of the workshop, simultaneous interpretation in Spanish, English and Basque will be provided.
