The main issues under investigation are the cognitive and neural bases
of attentional-emotional and literacy development, as well as the
impact of socioeconomic status, genetic factors and training across
typically and atypically developing children.
The research activity will be developed by research teams grouped around 6 central issues critical to this project.
- The first topic focuses on
attention development and emotional self-regulation and the impact of
these on learning.
- The second topic focuses on word reading.
- The third
topic focuses on text comprehension.
- The fourth topic focuses on the
effects of culture and environment on literacy.
- The fifth topic focuses
on the link between the genetic, neuronal and cognitive-behavioural
levels.
- The sixth topic focuses on the development of computer-based
tools for diagnosis and training in attention and literacy.
These six
work-packages will be carried out by four teams
