Date: Oct 18, 2012

What: MEG analysis to help in diagnosis of various diseases: Alzheimer’s disease, mild cognitive impairment, schizophrenia, depression and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder

Where: BCBL auditorium

Who: Roberto Hornero Sánchez, Biomedical Engineering Group. University of Valladolid

When: 12 noon

The research lines of the Biomedical Engineering from the University of Valladolid will be described. These research lines are focused on signal and image processing to help in diagnosis of various diseases. One of the main research lines will be explained: signal analysis of electroencephalogram (EEG) and magnetoencephalogram (MEG) to aid in the diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease. Moreover, we present a summary of other studies using the MEG signal analysis applied to diseases like mild cognitive impairment (MCI), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), depression and schizophrenia.
